VCO Researchers

Over the decades, there have been numerous researchers and studies on VCO. Some of these studies were previously ignored but they are now coming to light again. Here are some.

George Blackburn and his associates at Harvard’s New England Deaconess Hospital proved that VCO raises HDL. This was in the 1980s when the ASA (American Soybean Association) falsely claimed that VCO causes heart disease.

Conrad S. Dayrit was a medical doctor who contributed to the research in coconut oil. He debunked the myth that claimed that coconut oil was a cause of heart disease. He was also able to prove the many health benefits of VCO.

Mary G. Enig was a well-known nutritionist and researcher. She was known for her unwavering position about the role of saturated fats in the diet of an individual. She was against the idea that a diet in saturated fat contributed to heart disease.

Dr. Bruce Fife is a nutritionist who is the author of several books including “The Coconut Oil Miracle”. He has conducted much research on VCO, and believes that degenerative eye diseases can be stopped by VCO.

Hans Kaunitz, a former professor of Pathology at Columbia University, found out that animals fed with VCO remained completely healthy as long as essential fatty acids were adequate. He identified essential fatty-acid deficiency as the primary cause of lesions often attributed to coconut oil.

Joseph M. Mercola is an alternative medicine proponent. He is known for his research that shows that VCO is a better treatment than drugs for those suffering from Alzheimer’s disease.
